These terms set out the basis on which Mainspring provides watch repair and servicing work, and on which visitors use our website. We have tried to write them plainly. If something is unclear, please ask before you proceed.

Section 01

Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions the following words carry the meanings given below.

  • "Mainspring" / "We" / "Us" / "Our" — the watch repair and servicing business operating as Mainspring, 305 Beach Road, Nong Prue, Bang Lamung, Chonburi 20150, Thailand.
  • "You" / "User" / "Customer" — any person who visits our website or submits a watch for service.
  • "Service" — any watch inspection, repair, overhaul, or other work we agree to carry out.
  • "Website" — the pages and content at mainsprin.pro.
  • "Agreement" — the contract formed when you accept a service estimate from us, incorporating these Terms and Conditions.

Section 02

Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or by bringing a watch to us for service, you confirm that you have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit work to us.

You confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. You also confirm that you own the watch you are submitting, or have the owner's authority to authorise work on it.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Thailand. Your statutory rights under Thai consumer law are not affected by anything written here.

Section 03

Services

Mainspring offers three principal service tiers for mechanical watches: Inspection & Light Service, Full Strip & Rebuild, and Complicated Movement Overhaul. Full descriptions and indicative pricing are on our Solutions page.

Pricing shown on the website is indicative. A written estimate is provided after inspection of each watch. Work proceeds only after you have accepted the estimate in writing.

We serve customers in Thailand and accept watches by personal drop-off at our Chonburi workshop. We reserve the right to decline any watch that falls outside our area of competence or that presents an unacceptable risk of damage during service.

Section 04

User Responsibilities

When using our website you agree not to:

  • Submit false or misleading information through any form or communication.
  • Use automated tools to scrape, index, or reproduce content from the website without our written consent.
  • Attempt to interfere with the normal operation of the website or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use the website for any purpose that is unlawful under Thai law.

When submitting a watch for service you agree to disclose any known pre-existing damage or prior repair work. Concealing this information may affect the outcome of the service and limits our responsibility for issues that arise from undisclosed prior work.

Section 05

Intellectual Property

All text, images, design, and content on this website are the property of Mainspring or are used with permission. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial reference.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, or publish any part of this website in any form without our prior written consent. Linking to the homepage is permitted without prior notice, but framing or deep-linking is not.

Section 06

Payment Terms

All prices are quoted in Thai Baht (฿) and include VAT where applicable. The final price may differ from the indicative price if, during the course of work, additional issues come to light. We will notify you before any additional work is carried out.

  • Payment on collection — full payment is due when the watch is collected, or upon delivery if an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.
  • Uncollected watches — watches not collected within 90 days of notification will be subject to a storage charge. We reserve the right to apply a lien over uncollected items in accordance with Thai law.
  • Cancellation after acceptance — if work has already begun when you cancel, a charge reflecting the work completed may apply.

Inspection fees may apply where a watch is returned unserviced. The applicable fee will be stated on the estimate form before work begins.

Section 07

Service Terms

Turnaround times given are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Complications or parts availability may affect the time required. We will keep you informed if a significant delay arises.

Replacement parts used will be either original manufacturer parts or high-quality compatible equivalents, as noted on the service record. We will discuss this with you in advance where the choice is meaningful to the watch's value.

A written service record is provided with every completed job, detailing the work carried out, parts replaced, and the accuracy measurements taken before and after service.

Section 08

Disclaimers

The website is provided "as is". We take care to keep information accurate but cannot ensure that it is always current or complete. Pricing and service descriptions on the website are for guidance; the written estimate provided after inspection is the definitive document.

Nothing on this website constitutes professional advice specific to your situation. For specialist guidance on your watch's value or history, please consult an independent expert.

Section 09

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Thai law, our liability for any claim arising from a service is limited to the price paid for that service. We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of sentimental or collector value, unless caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

We take reasonable care when handling watches. In the rare event that damage occurs during service as a direct result of our negligence, we will arrange repair or reasonable compensation. Pre-existing damage that was present before the watch was submitted to us is not our responsibility.

Neither party is responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond reasonable control, including utility failures, acts of government, or natural events.

Section 10

Termination

You may cancel a service agreement at any time before we have begun work, at no cost. Once work has started, the cancellation terms in Section 6 apply.

We reserve the right to decline future work from any customer who has acted in bad faith, provided false information, or behaved in a manner that makes a working relationship impractical.

Section 11

Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, we ask that you contact us first at [email protected] so that we can try to resolve the matter informally. Most issues can be settled with a direct conversation.

If informal resolution is not possible, disputes shall be referred to the competent courts of Chonburi Province, Thailand. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Thailand.

The parties may also refer disputes to mediation under the procedures of the Thai Arbitration Institute, if both agree to do so in writing.

Section 12

General Provisions

  • Entire agreement — these Terms, together with the service estimate you have accepted, form the entire agreement between you and Mainspring.
  • Severability — if any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
  • Waiver — our failure to enforce any provision on a particular occasion does not waive our right to enforce it on a later occasion.
  • Assignment — you may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.
  • Notices — formal notices to us should be sent to [email protected]. We will contact you using the email address or telephone number you provided.

Section 13

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. For substantive changes, we will place a notice on the website.

Continuing to use the website or submitting work to us after an update has been posted will be taken as acceptance of the revised Terms.
